REPORT: Warriors Fear KD Could Miss Significant Time With Knee Injury
Before the All-Star break, and frankly up to this point in the season, the Warriors looked like a well-oiled machine with only one team potentially blocking their championship aspirations.
Then, news came of an MRI on Kevin Durant’s knee.
Initial fears as it pertains to KD’s injury were mild, suggesting it was either precautionary, or wouldn’t cost the All-Star significant playing time. Now, those sentiments have changed considerably. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Durant’s inner circle and the Warriors believe he could be out “months, not weeks.”
While it took some time, Durant has gelled very well with the Warriors brass, including Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. Golden State would surely still be a force to be reckoned with even if KD missed significant playing time, it would be a big blow to their championship expectations, and perhaps bring them back to the pack a little bit.
At times this season, Golden State has looked truly unbeatable when they’re at their best. If Durant goes down, that dominance can be called into question moving forward.
